摘要 For the relative adjustment of a workpiece (3) with respect to a grinding wheel (2), a carrier (5), used either as tool support or as workpiece clamping means, can be adjusted at least in the longitudinal and transverse directions. A first adjusting device (1) is used for the longitudinal adjustment and a second adjusting device (23) is used for the transverse adjustment. A first sensor (8) which is electrically connected to the drive motor (36) of the grinding wheel (2) establishes the end of the grinding contact between the grinding wheel (2) and the workpiece (3). A second sensor (13) scans the longitudinal adjustment and a third sensor (21) scans the transverse adjustment of the carrier (5). The first sensor (8) is connected to a first switching device (6) of the first adjusting device (1), in order to activate the latter when grinding contact finishes. The switching device (6) receives items of direction information from the position sensor (13). A second switching device (25) of the second adjusting device (23) receives items of direction information from the position sensor (21) and, via a delay unit (29), is likewise activated by the first sensor (8). The apparatus permits optimum use of the grinding machine with simultaneous possibilities of adjustment in the longitudinal and transverse directions. <IMAGE>
