PURPOSE:To monitor accurately a state of the bottom of the water irrespective of a light quantity in the water and a dirtiness of water by placing an acoustic wave transmitter and receiver for detecting a water bottom shape to a body, and connecting it to a display device provided on a work monitoring place. CONSTITUTION:According to a sea sand collecting device 1 being an underwater work device, a sand pump (work position body) 3 is suspended from a sea sand collecting boat 2, sea sand is pumped up together with sea water from the sea bottom by this sand pump 3, and the sea sand selected by a selecting device 4 is collected in a tank 5. An acoustic wave transmitter and receiver 7 is installed to the sand pump 3, and connected through a hose 6 to a CRT display device 9 in an underwater work monitoring place 8 on the sea sand collecting boat 2. This acoustic wave transmitter and receiver 7 is installed, for instance, so as to be oscillatable by 180 deg. round the horizontal spindle in a water-proof dome, radiates an acoustic wave to the sea bottom of the vicinity of the sand pump 3, receives its reflected acoustic wave from the sea bottom, and displays a picture of the lay of the land of the sea bottom, etc. on the CRT display device 9 of the underwater work monitoring place 8. |
