PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of a holder for multi-stylus head by a method in which a strip spacer is movably set between latent image carriers regardless of the circumferential speed of the carrier on both ends of outside of recording electrode region for the multi-stylus head in an electrostatic recorder. CONSTITUTION:At the time of recording, a drum 12 is turned toward the direction of A, one spacer tape 19 is wound up around a winding shaft 17 in the direction of B, the tape 19 of mylar, etc., having the same thickness as necessary aperture (DELTAd) between the drum 12 and the head 11 always provides a new portion, and the aperture (DELTAd) between the drum 12 and the head 11 pressed by a spring 16 is always secured. The winding speed Vs is designated to the relationship VD>>Vs, where VD is the circumference speed of the drum, and the drum is exchanged when the winding is completed. Thus, the necessary discharge aperture (DELTAd) between the multi-stylus head and the recording drum as the image carrier can be secured with high accuracy without variation due to abrasion, and the life of the device can thus be lengthened. |
