PURPOSE:To improve productivity of a heat-fixing roll, to prevent a rubber layer of the roll from thermal deterioration, and to stabilize the quality of the roll by inserting a metallic core shaft covered with fluororesin into an induction heating coil and baking the shaft by heating. CONSTITUTION:Fluororesin 2 is covered directly or indirectly interposing a rubber layer on a metallic core shaft 3, then the covered metallic shaft 3 is baked. In this stage, the covered metallic shaft 3 is inserted into an induction heating coil 1, and the shaft is calcined by heating. Since the covering fluororesin 2 is heated quickly to a specified temp. with the induction heating coil 1 fitted to the outside of the shaft and baked, only extremely short heating time is necessary for the calcination. By this process, the productivity of the heat-fixing roll is improved, the thermal deterioration of the rubber layer in accompany with the calcination is prevented, and variation of quality of the roll is eliminated since the whole body of the roll is heated uniformly. |
