PURPOSE:To prevent the dissipation of lubricating films by the high temp. of the actual use environment, the centrifugal force generated by rotation of a magnetic disk and the friction by sliding with a head, etc., by forming the lubricating films directly on continuous thin films. CONSTITUTION:Plating surfaces subjected to a plating treatment with hardened film 2 consisting of a nonmagnetic ternary alloy of nickel-copper-phosphorus, etc., on both the front and rear faces of the disk substrate 1 which consists of an aluminum alloy, etc., and is worked to specular faces, are worked to the specular faces and the continuous thin films 3 consisting of gamma ferrite, etc., are provided on these plating surfaces 2. The lubricating films 5 are directly formed on these films 3. The affinity between the continuous thin films and the lubricating films is thereby extremely increased and the dissipation of the lubricating films by the high temp. in the actual use environment, the centrifugal force generated by rotation of the magnetic disk and the friction by the sliding with the head, etc., is obviated. |
