<p>The drum which holds the frozen products consists of two circular plates with 14 to 20 radial divider plates between them. Rotation of the drum is normally inhibited by a spring loaded catch rod which sits in one of the notches around the periphery of the drum plates. When the rod is retracted by a solenoid, e.g. after insertion of money in a separate mechanism, the drum can be rotated by a hand-operated, sickle-shaped bracket. The user pulls on a plastics material cover, causing the bracket to move out on an arc determined by a pivot bar. Attached to a swivel pin in the pivot bar is a lever, the end of which catches in one of the notches and moves the drum round one position, allowing access to the product in the next segment.</p> |
