PURPOSE:To allow exact layout operation without layout errors by displaying the illustrations and characters concerning one piece of merchandise in such a mode that the correspondence relation of both can be recognized at all times during the layout correction for one thereof. CONSTITUTION:The merchandise information for a piece of the merchandise is constituted of the set of the illustrations and characters defined in the mutual correspondence relations. A corrected image display device 23 displays the illustrations (or characters) to be corrected and the characters (or illustrations) corresponding thereto on a display device 10 in such a specific display form (for example, such a method of changing only the colors of these two) when an operator is going to make the correction operation of the layout position for the illustrations (or characters) of the certain merchandise within the layout screen. The operator is able to recognize to which characters (or illustrations) the illustrations to be corrected of the start of the layout at present corresponds. The exact layout operation without the layout errors is thus executed in this way.
