A tape dispenser and printer has tape reel 2 feeding adhesive tape 5 past cutter 6. Print roller 4. biased towards the reel and driven thereby via roller 7, is inked by reservoir 8 and prints on the tape adhesive. The print roller may have raised characters, or ink repellent and ink-attracting areas. The print medium may be powdered or liquid ink, and the reservoir may be an ink pad. The print roller may be replaced by a cam-raised platen. The dispenser may be hand held with a trigger-actuated cutter (Fig. 2).
