The motor maintains the armature current at a set value by the chopper control, and at the end of a period the stored magnetic energy of the armature coil is shifted to the next armature to be energised. As a result, the stored magnetic energy of an armature discharge current decreases sharply and accordingly the current to the next armature coil increases sharply. Therefore the electric motor rotates at a high speed maintaining a large torque. The electric power is supplied from a d.c. power source (2a,2b) via a forwardly connected diode (41). A capacitor (47) may be connected in parallel with the power source. |
