<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for suspending a hot dip metal coating bath for the purpose of recovering the dross suspended on a coating bath surface by heating and continuously regenerating the dross in a reducing atmosphere, then supplying the dross to the coating bath. SOLUTION: A stainless strip 1 is immersed into molten zinc 13 and is continuously galvanized. Air is ejected from gas wiping nozzles 7 to the steel strip 1 after the galvanizing to adjust the coating weight of the galvanizing. The molten zinc is oxidized by the air injection and is made into zinc oxide. The zinc oxide is light and, thereafter, floats on the surface of the molten zinc 13, thereby forming the dross 8. Flow is generated on the surface of the molten zinc 13 by an electromagnet pump 9 to gather the dross 8 to one point. The dross 8 is charged into a reduction heating furnace 11 by a transporting device 10. The coke in this reduction heating furnace 11 is burned to CO, which reduces the dross 8 to zinc. The zinc is returned to a coating bath cell 5 by a supply pipe 12. Since the dross 8 is continuously removed, the high-quality coating is obtd. without intrusion of the dross 8 into the plating layer.</p> |
