<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject more stabilized compound by adding a specific stabilizer into a system containing an isothiazolone-based compound useful as an industrial germicide, especially a latex preservative or a synthetic resin emulsion preservative. SOLUTION: This composition contains an isothiazolone-based compound, especially a compound represented by formula I (Y is H or a hydrocarbon; X<1> and X<2> are each H, a halogen or an alkyl) or a compound represented by formula II (X<3> to X<6> are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy, etc.), an N- haloquinoneimine which is a stabilizer and water. Compounds of formula III (Z<1> to Z<4> are each H, hydroxy, a halogen, an alkyl, etc.; X<7> is H or a halogen), formula IV or V (X<8> and X<9> are each H or a halogen), etc., are preferred as the N-haloquinoneimine that is the stabilizer. The blending ratio of the components in the composition is 0.01-20wt.% isothiazolone-based compound, 0.005-1wt.% N-haloquinoneimine and water so that the sum total of the three components may be 100wt.%. A water-soluble glycolic solvent may be added into the system.</p> |
