PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting diode as a point light source having a small aberration. SOLUTION: In the light-source light emitting diode 10, a reflective layer 14 for reflecting light that is emitted from an active layer 18 and is directed toward a substrate 12 toward a light exit surface 36 is provided between the active layer 18 functioning as a light emitting layer and the substrate 12 at a position spaced by a distance d from the active layer 18 corresponding to 1/20 or less of a diameter (emitted light diameter) D of a light exit part 38. For this reason, light directed toward the substrate 12 is also reflected by the reflective layer 14 and radiated from the light exit surface 36, whereby a high light emission output can be obtained. At this time, since the distance d between the active layer 18 and reflective layer 14 is made to be as small as 1/30 of the emitted light diameter D, an aberration to be determined by a distance (i.e., a distance between two of light sources in the light-source light emitting diode 10) between the active layer 18 and a virtual light emitting position Si of the reflected light can be made to be sufficiently small with respect to the emitted light diameter D. |
