The liquid crystal display is characterized by the features: plural trapezoidal gate lines and gate electrodes are formed on a glass substrate using a transparent conduction film; some part of the top of the transparent conduction film is formed with a non-transparent metal; plural signal lines are formed vertically with the gate lines; a thin film transistor, which comprises a source electrode connected to a signal electrode and a drain electrode connected to a pixel electrode, is formed on the gate electrode; and the pixel electrode is overlapped along one side in the trapezoidal gate line using an insulating film as an intermediate.
