<p>A method of selectively altering the expression of a gene in a eukaryotic cell is disclosed. Expression of the gene can be manipulated at various points in development or in particular tissues. This method is particularly useful for observing the effect of altering the expression of an unknown gene or a gene whose function is unknown. The method can be used in eukaryotic cells in vitro or in vivo, for example by constructing transgenic eukaryotic organisms.</p> |
