PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart great driving force, for returning a driving mechanism to a normal state and to surely start an optical element by switching a sine- wave driving signal applied to a driving means, at the time of executing a normal operation to a rectangular wave signal, when a driving mechanism for an optical element has abnormality because of impact, etc. SOLUTION: Variable waveform drivers 117 and 119 supply driving signals to a zooming motor 118 and a focusing motor 120 (both of them are of pulse motors), in accordance with instructions to drive lenses 102 and 105 outputted from an AF microcomputer 115, respectively. In such a case, when a power source is applied, but the operation of resetting a counter is not completed, for instance, as the waveform of the driving signal of the zooming motor 118, a lens resetting waveform, that is, the rectangular waveform for generating torque sufficient for starting the zoom lens 102 is set. Thus, even if the driving mechanism for the zoom lens 102 becomes an abnormal state, for instance, the zoom lens 102 can be surely starred by great torque. |
