Bus data communication connection for communication network

The data communication connection is operated with an interrogation and response protocol and contains a central processor (Z) and a number of subscriber units. A bus (B) contains a number of partial paths with point-to-point connections. The bus is connected in a ring, divided into two successive path sections (W,O) at the connection with the central processor and with each subscriber unit. The block structure of the data transferred is monitored along the bus, for by-passing a fault location to maintain the integrity of the connection path.
