PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water absorbing resin showing an extremely high water absorption ratio under load even in a small particle diameter, a high absorption rate caused by the particle diameter, suitably used for a hygienic article such as a paper diaper, sanitary napkin or incontinent pad. SOLUTION: This water absorbing resin bas 50-200μm average particle diameter and at least 25 g/g water absorption ratio under load and is obtained, for example, by a process for compounding water absorbing particles with a crosslinking agent containing at least two groups to be reacted with the functional group of the water absorbing resin particles and mixing the mixture of the water absorbing resin particles and the crosslinking agent with an aqueous liquid.
