<p>PURPOSE:To prevent fabrics from being damaged in cutting a slide fastener chain with the fabrics, by a method wherein a pair of detectors for detecting an intervallic part between a pair of the fabrics preceding and a pair of the fabrics following, which are respectively sewed on both sides of a slide fastener chain, are provided on both sides of the slide chain, and a control means for controlling the operation of the title apparatus by signals from a pair of the detectors is provided. CONSTITUTION:First photoelectric sensors 18 detect an intervallic tart 5 between fabrics, at a position on the upstream side of a detector 1, and transmit signals to a transporting device 26, and a transporting speed is controlled. As the result of it, a long chain 2 with the fabrics transported at a high speed is decelerated and a second photoelectric sensor 19 on the downstream side thereof can detect the intervallic part 5 accurately and easily. After detecting the intervallic part 5 between the fabrics of the long chain 2 with the fabrics, the second photoelectric sensor 19 transmits signals to a roller 20 for measuring length and the transporting device 26, in order that the intervallic part 5 can accurately be set at a cutting position by means of a cutting device 24 provided on the downstream side of the detector 1. As the result of it, the transportation of the chain 2 is stopped and the chain 2 is cut accurately at a cutting line 32. In this way, the fabrics can be prevented from being damaged by cutting.</p> |
