PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cancel press-contact distribution caused by the initial deflection of a developer layer thickness regulating member, to quicken the uniform press- contact of the developer layer thickness regulating member and to improve image defect such as image irregularity by applying magnetic force distribution where magnetic force is maximum at the center in the shaft direction of a developer carrier and it is decreased toward the end. SOLUTION: This developing device is provided with the developer carrier 7 for supplying powder developer to a photoreceptor, the developer layer thickness regulating member 5 pressing the developer carried on the carrier 7 and forming a developer thin layer, and magnetic substance arranged on the member 5 in a developing unit. Furthermore, a part of material constituting the carrier 7 and the member 5 is the magnetic substance. Relating to the device, the magnetic force having such distribution that it is maximum at a part opposed to the center part in the shaft direction of the carrier 1 and it is decreased toward both ends is applied to the member 5 so as to improve the nonuniformity of press-contact force caused by the deflection of the member 5. |
