PURPOSE: An apparatus for automatically detecting a video phone is provided to reduce a video connection time period through a detection of a video phone in advance during a voice call by maintaining the voice call until a signal of a video function button selection is inputted. CONSTITUTION: A mute detection part(20) detects a mute interval from a voice signal inputted/outputted from/to a handset(10). A system controller(30) controls to generate a tone pulse from a communication modem(40) if a mute detection signal is applied from the mute detection part(20). The communication modem(40) performs communication controls under the control of the system controller(30), generates a confirmation tone pulse, or detects a response tone pulse transmitted from others. |
