The protection device comprises connection wires (7) between the microelectronic circuit (1M) terminals (13) and the ends (51) of the microstrips (5) of the hyper-frequency line, a metallic earth plate (2), a dielectric substrate (4) attached to the plate and supporting the microstrips (5) on its other side and a metallic gate component (3) mounted in a window (40) in the dielectric. The microelectronic circuit has two faces, one of which is fixed to the gate component (3) and a second face with the connection terminals (13) that is effectively in the same plane as the ends (51) of the microstrips (5). The terminals (13) are divided along the length of the microelectronic circuit (1M) and between them comprise the width (W1) of the microelectronic circuit which is considerably less than the window width (W4).
