PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the long-time execution of a transaction and database operation in an interactive style, as to a database system wherein a database is accessed from a client by the HTTP protocol and a transaction control method. SOLUTION: This system has a database server 1 including a database 11, an access request storage file 12, a client information database 13, a committed command monitor part 14, and a control processing part 15 and plural clients 3-1 to 3-n which communicate through a WEB server 2 by the HTTP protocol; when request commands corresponding to the clients are stored in an access request storage file 12 in time series and a COMMIT command is executed, it is decided whether or not other unexecuted commands are affected, a report is sent to clients which are affected, and the COMMIT command is executed in the order of clients with higher priority.
