PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To organize a cell lineage with a saved labor in a short time by organizing the cell lineage by a computer. SOLUTION: This method includes (a) a process for obtaining a four- dimensional microscopic image, (b) a process for extracting cell nucleus regions by executing image processing on the four-dimensional image, (c) a process for integrating the cell nucleus regions derived from the same cell nucleus from among the cell nucleus regions extracted from the four-dimensional image, and (d) a process for organizing the cell lineage from information of the times when the cell nucleus region in the image appears or disappears and the positions thereof in the integrated cell nucleus region. The (b) process includes a process for extracting a region which becomes a candidate of the cell nucleus, and a process for specifying a cell nucleus anticipation region by a cell lineage formation trial work, and executing feedback of the anticipation region to the cell nucleus candidate region, to thereby extract the cell nucleus region.
