PLASTIC POLARIZING LENS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distinguish the thicker end of a polarizing lens for glare shielding used in a spectacle frame slightly tilted backward, adjusting a prism direction and different in thickness between right and left in a production stage. SOLUTION: A polarizing element 1 is held between transparent plastic base layers 2, 3 and they are fused and integrated to form the objective polarizing lens L. The polarizing element 1 obtained by stretching a plastic film containing a dye such as iodine in a uniaxial direction to orient the molecules has been made different in thickness between both ends of the element 1 in the stretching direction. Marks 5, 5 showing larger thickness are fused to the thicker end as one of both ends of the polarizing lens L in the stretching direction in a production stage.
