PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which can efficiently perform data conversion processing even when a memory having no read-modify-write function is used. SOLUTION: A data size setting register 64 divides an image that print data represents into a plurality of unit areas and sets the sizes of small areas including an object in the respective unit areas. Then 0-write-size setting registers 63 and 65 sets the sizes of a blank area in the respective unit areas. A work buffer 43a stores the print data included in the respective unit areas. A processing part 51 reads the print data included in the small areas set by the data size setting register 64 out of the work buffer 43a by the unit areas and stores column data generated on the basis of the print data in a print buffer 43. For a blank area, '0's are written to the print buffer 43b by as may as the size of the blank area set by the 0-write-size setting registers 63 and 65.
