<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly apply digital signatures with MAC to large amounts of data by generating an authentication code and electronic signatures at a server side which manages electronic data. <P>SOLUTION: This electronic data storage system is provided with at least one server which is able to transfer electronic data with an external client, an external device equipped with an ROM region and an RAM region, and electrically and mechanically connected to the server and an access-restricted read-only memory means whose rewrite invalidating storage region is printed with a private key by a manufacturer in manufacturing. The external device is provided with an algorithm for generating a temporary secret key based on a private key copied from the read-only memory means in the ROM region, and stores the temporary secret key in the RAM region, and stores a program for generating an authentication code from the temporary private key and predetermined electronic data as an object in the ROM region. The server is provided with an object for generating the authentication code of the electronic data from the electronic data and a storage part which stores the electronic data and the authentication code. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
