摘要 A semiconductor memory(MEM), a memory system, and an operating method for the memory system are provided to perform random access easily and improve a transmission rate during the random access without laying a burden on the system. A semiconductor memory comprises the followings: a plurality of banks(BK) which separately haves memory cells(30) and can be operated independently from each other; a bank control unit(22) which controls access operations of the banks; an address holding unit(24) which holds a bank address indicating a bank which currently performs the access operation; an address comparison unit(26) which compares the bank address held by the address hold unit with a bank address included in an external address which is supplied together with an access request from an exterior; and a comparison result output unit(28) which activates a busy signal(BSY) while a comparison result by the address comparison unit coincides. The number of the banks is larger than a number of banks which the bank control unit can simultaneously access.
