PURPOSE:To obtain a phthalocyanine complex benzo-substituted at a specified position, which is soluble in ordinary organic solvents and easy to control orientation, by heating 1,2-dicyanonaphthalene or 2,3-dicyanonaphthalene and phthalonitrile in the presence of zinc (II) acetate. CONSTITUTION:1,2-Dicyanonaphthalene or 2,3-dicyanonaphthalene and phthalonitrile are heated in the presence of zinc (II) acetate or magnesium acetate. It is desirable that the phthalonitrile be used in an amount of 15-25mol per mol of the 1,2-dicyanonaphthalene or 2,3-dicyanonaphthalene, and the heating is performed at 200-300 deg.C. The separation and purification of the phthalocyanine complex after the reaction is preferably effected by the reversed phase liquid chromatography. |
