An apparatus and a method for processing flooding in a wireless multi-hop network are provided to achieve efficient flooding by suppressing an unnecessary use of messages in the case of executing smart flooding and to obtain information through broadcast nature. An apparatus for processing flooding in a wireless multi-hop network comprises an address detection part(21), a neighbor information management part(22), a retransmission check part(23), and a retransmission processing part(24). The address detection part(21) detects the address of a source node and the address of a destination node from an incoming packet. The neighbor information management part(22) analyzes the detected addresses and stores neighbor information, or information associated with the location of a neighbor node. Based on the state of the neighbor information, the retransmission check part(23) indicates whether to execute the flooding of a flooding target packet. The retransmission processing part(24) retransmits the flooding target packet according to a command from the retransmission check part(23).
