A double metal cyanide catalyst for preparing polyether polyol is provided to reduce or eliminate induction time during the preparation of polyether polyol through polyaddition of an alkylene oxide to an active hydrogen-containing initiator, and to obtain polyol having a very low double bond content. A double metal cyanide catalyst for preparing polyether polyol comprises: (a) at least one double metal cyanide compound represented by the formula of M[M'(CN)4](wherein M is selected from Zn(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Co(II), Sn(II), Pb(II), Sr(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Pd(II), Pt(II), V(II), Mg(II), Ca(II) and Ba(II), and M' is selected from Zn(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Mn(II), Co(II), Sn(II), Pb(II), Sr(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Pd(II), Pt(II), V(II), Mg(II), Ca(II) and Ba(II)); (b) at least one organic complexing ligand selected from alcohol, aldehyde, ketone, ether, ester, amide, urea, nitrile and sulfide; and (c) optionally, at least one complexing agent different from (b) and selected from the group consisting of polyether, polyester, polycarbonate, polyalkylene glycol sorbitan ester, polyalkylene glycol glycidyl ether, polyacryl amide, poly(acrylamide-co-acrylic acid), polyacrylic acid, poly(acrylic acid-co-maleic acid), polyacrylonitrile, polyalkyl acrylate, polyalkyl methacrylate, polyvinylmethyl ether, polyvinylethyl ether, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl alcohol, poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone, poly(n-vinylpyrrolidone-co-acrylic acid), polyvinylmethyl ketone, poly(4-vinylphenol), poly(acrylic acid-co-styrene), oxazoline polymer, polyalkyleneimine, maleic acid and maleic anhydride copolymer, hydroxyethyl cellulose, polyacetal, glycidyl ether, glycoside, carboxylate of polyhydric alcohol, bile acid or a salt, ester or amide thereof, cyclodextrin, phosphorus compounds, alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxylate and ionic surface-active or surfactant compounds. |
