A process for determining the internal torque on the rotor 1 of a flow direction sensor. The internal torque is determined from the sequence of motion of the rotor 1 in a phase of free motion. The rotor 1 may be intermittently set in motion and then left alone to move without external torques. There may be a plurality of free motion phases of at least 10 degrees each, which jointly cover the entire angular range of the rotor 1. The velocity and acceleration of the rotor 1 may be determined from the function of angular position against time, which is recorded by a data recorder, and the internal torque may be decomposed into individual partial torques for each mode of motion of the rotor 1. The component of the individual partial torques that is independent of the state of motion of the rotor 1 may be determined by solving a system of equations. |
