<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument having a smoking suppressing effect, of which the ingestion adjustment by the will of a user is easy, which can demonstrate a desired effect by simply gripping and using it, and especially, which can be used by a person who wants to quit smoking, or a smoker who is in a place where a tobacco nicotine gum cannot be used, and can be used any time and any place, and can be used when smoking is not possible in a conference room or during a reception, and when the tobacco nicotine gum is not used. <P>SOLUTION: A percutaneously absorbent substance is contained at least in the gripping section of a pen barrel main body or a grip which is attached to the gripping section for this writing instrument.
