The device has a tubular holding carrier (12) provided at a retaining carrier (7), where the holding carrier has holding carrier sections (14, 15) for a front wheel and a rear wheel of a bicycle. The holding carrier sections are telescopable in a guiding carrier and are held in a position by inserting fixing units (18). Each fixing unit is provided with a locking unit to fix the holding carrier sections relative to the holding carrier, where the locking unit is loaded using a spring unit and is influenced by an actuating mechanism. The locking unit has a thrust piece made of plastic.
