PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing semiconductor nanoparticles.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing semiconductor nanoparticles comprising: a step a) where seed particles exposed with prescribed crystal faces are dispersed into a solvent; a step b) where the crystal faces of the seed particles are successively laminated with a first semiconductor layer, a seed layer composed of the member same as that of the seed particles and a second semiconductor layer; and a step c) where the seed particles and the seed layer are removed by etching treatment to separate the first and second semiconductor layers from each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
