The invention relates to the rear portion of the body of a motor vehicle including one part made of stamped sheet metal constituting a housing for one of the two rear lights, located next to the lining (11) of one of the two rear wings, to the rear quarter panel lining (12) and to one of the two rear wheel houses (13), said sheet-metal part of the rear light housing comprising a wall located substantially in a horizontal plane which includes an edge that is secured to a rigid portion of the body shell located substantially in a vertical plane, characterised in that said wall of the rear light housing is supported by a sheet-metal part (15) forming a spacer, in which the lower edge is secured to one of the wheel houses (13) and the upper edge is secured under said wall of the light housing. |
