<p>L-Lysine or a salt thereof is prepared by hydrolysis of an aqueous solution of L-a -amino-e -caprolactam with a strong base, e.g. sodium or potassium hydroxide. Sodium or potassium lysinates so obtained may be passed over an ion exchanger to give L-lysine, which may be subsequently converted to the calcium or hydrochloric acid salt.</p> |
