PURPOSE:To obtain a composition containing an organic peroxide capable of efficiently improving the MFI of plastics independent of the presence of additive for plastics by making an organic peroxide adsorbed to silica having adsorbing power. CONSTITUTION:An organic peroxide is adsorbed to silica having adsorbing power. The peroxide is preferably the one having a 10hr half-life temperature of >=50 deg.C or thereabout, e.g. methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and cyclohexanone peroxide. The amount of the peroxide in the composition is preferably about 1-70%, especially about 5-40%. The obtained organic peroxide composition is compounded to PE, PP, PVC, PVAC, etc., and the mixture is heat-treated to obtain a modified plastics having improved MFI and free from discoloration and odor independent of the presence of additives such as antioxidant. |
