A machine tool comprises a headstock 11 having a spindle 14 adapted to carry a wheel, the headstock being connected to a support 8 movable in a horizontal plane by means of an intermediate arm 9 pivoted on the support for movement on a vertical plane, the headstock being pivoted to the arm for movement in a plane perpendicular to the pivoting plane of the arm on the support. The support 8 has a foot 8b which is protected by a bellows 2 and mounted on a slide 4 movable transversely of a base 1 which also slidably support a table 2. The support is formed with a shoulder 8a which rotatably receives the foot 9b of the intermediate arm which can be secured in a predetermined angular position by means of a handle 10. The headstock 11 is similarly mounted for adjustment about a vertical axis on the end of the arm 9 and can be secured in position by a handle 13. The handles 10, 13 engage threaded rods 9a, 12, and in the vertical position of rod 12, the axes of the rods intersect each other and the axis of the spindle 14 at a point, the spindle, which is adapted to hold a wheel at each end, extending further in one direction from the point than in the other so that it can be adjusted to be coaxial with rod 9a. |
