In a suspended ceiling, flanged panels or groups 2 of flanged panels 4 connected together by bars 5 which are notched to receive the flanges, are suspended in rows from the structural ceiling with gaps 17 between the rows, the gaps 17 being filled by panels 3 connected to the panels in said rows on each side thereof for pivotal movement about an axis transverse to the rows. As described the panels 3 have resiliently retractable catches mounted thereon which engage apertures in the flanges of the panels 4. In the method of assembly, the groups 2 of panels 4 and the panels 3, are first mounted in a vertical position, and are then swung up to a horizontal position the hangers 11, and the resiliently retractable catches being constructed in a manner Figs. 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 (not shown) which facilitates this method of assembly. |
