发明名称 Verfahren zur Reduktion eines reduzierbaren Metalloxyds
摘要
A reducible metal oxide is reduced to metal, particularly iron ore to pig iron in a blast furnace, by contacting the oxide in particle form in a reduction zone with a reducing gas generated separately and externally of the reduction zone and comprising carbon monoxide, hydrogen and acetylene. The gas is preferably formed by reacting preheated hydrocarbon gas, such as methane, ethane, propane, butane or natural gas preheated to above 600 DEG F., with oxygen-containing gas, such as oxygen preheated to at least 600 DEG F. or air preheated to at least 1500 DEG F., in a separate reaction zone for 0.005-0.05 second. As shown in Fig. 1, a blast furnace 2 is charged with iron ore, coke and limestone and supplied with preheated air or oxygen-enriched air through tuyeres 12, gas being discharged through line 13 for processing. According to the invention, the reducing gas, containing 1-4 mol per cent acetylene, is generated in acetylene generators 14 located around the furnace away from the tuyeres to prevent burning and fed directily into the stack 18 preferably where the temperature is above 1600 DEG F. Alternatively, the reduction with actylene-containing gas may be carried out in an ore reducer shaft-type furnace in which a downwardly moving settled bed is maintained (see Fig. 2, not shown), the reducing gas similarly generated flowing upwardly counter-current to the particulate ore and being recycled and reformed by reaction with additional hydrocarbon gas. A fluid or fixed bed type reduction furnace may be used or possibly the reduction may be carried out in a rotary kiln.
