PURPOSE:To form a heat-resistant compact, containing graphite powder subjected to expansion treatment as a principal component and further a binder as essential components and hardly causing cracking or breaking due to high heat resistance and elasticity thereof even when receiving shock or vibration. CONSTITUTION:The aforementioned heat-resistant compact is formed from graphite powder as a principal component subjected to expansion treatment and an inorganic binder for bonding mutual grains of the graphite powder as essential components. For example, sodium silicate, aluminum primary phosphate, ethyl silicate, an organic titanate, colloidal silica and portland cement are cited as the inorganic binder. |
