PURPOSE:To provided a good red coloring hue and to make shelf life (raw shelf life) prior to recording good by a method wherein a recording layer containing a specific diazo compound, a coupling component, and an organic base is provided on a base material to form a photosensitive thermal recording material. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer containing a diazo compound, a coupling component, and an organic base is provided onto a base material to form a photosensitive thermal material. Besides, 1-substituted amino-3-alkoxybenzene-4- diazonium salt is used as the diazo compound, and 2-cyclohexenone derivative is used as the coupling component. In order to use this diazo compound by dissolving in a suitable solvent (for instance, tricresyl phosphate or the like), it should preferably have suitable solubility for those solvents and low water solubility. A substituent to be bonded to 3 order via a hetero atom such as an oxygen atom, a nitrogen atom, a sulfur atom, etc., should preferably be provided from a point of coupling activity with the diazo compound in the 2-cyclohexenone derivative. |
