The mechanism consists of two pieces which are mounted on each of the connecting rods, one of which pieces is arranged in an inner housing whilst the other piece is displaced in a recess, both pieces being connected by means of a spring and one of the ends of the spring is coupled in a notch which allows the coupling of said end of the spring in toothings possessed by the rod, by means of which toothings the regulation in terms of height of the head restraint is achieved. Regulation in terms of tilt is achieved by means of two pieces of the mechanism which interact in delimiting the rotation in both directions of the head restraint, both at end positions and at intermediate positions. <IMAGE>
