In a metallurgical converter 1 held in a U-shaped support structure 2 by claws 3, 3<SP>1</SP> and 3<SP>11</SP> mounted thereon, radial expansion is accommodated by mounting the ends 5 of the claws in bushings or eyes 6, rotation therebetween being prevented by a spline 7 engaging a groove 8. The bushings seat on part-spherical sockets 9 and are located on the support structure by screws 10. Screws 10 are inserted into sleeves 12 on the underside of structure 2 and are elastically retained by springs 11, facilitating positioning of the bushings when the converter is assembled. |
