ANTISTATIC POLYESTER FIBER

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber exhibiting excellent durability under low temperature and low-humidity condition by using an aromatic polyester as both core and sheath components, adding a specific polyoxyethylene based polyether and an ionic compound to the core component and conjugating the components to form a specific shape. CONSTITUTION:The objective fiber has core and sheath components each composed of an aromatic polyester. The core component contains $10 wt.% (based on the aromatic polyester) of a non-random copolymer of a polyoxyethylene polyether having an average molecular weight of 5,000-16,000 and expressed by formula (Z is organic residue containing 1-6 active hydrogen atoms and having a molecular weight of >=300) and 0.1-5wt.% of an ionic compound. The areal conjugation ratio of core/sheath is 5/95 to 50/50.
