PURPOSE:To obtain a food, cosmetic, etc., having improved taste and flavor and excellent palatability by using a composition produced by compounding an essential oil obtained from a plant of genus Mentha, family Labiatae to essential oil, etc., obtained from l-menthol, etc. CONSTITUTION:The taste and flavor of food, etc., can be improved by using a composition produced by compounding (A) l-menthol and/or essential oil obtained from peppermint and/or essential oil obtained from Japanese peppermint with one or more kinds of essential oils selected from essential oils obtained from a plant of genus Mentha, family Labiatae (apple mint, bergamot mint or pineapple mint). The compounding ratio of the essential oil obtained from apple mint, etc., to l-menthol, etc., is preferably 10/90 to 90/10. |
