PURPOSE:To prevent an electrolyte loss from a cell end part so as to perform stable operation for a long time by providing a buffer part adjacent to a wet seal part. CONSTITUTION:Buffer parts 23, 25, having a function of absorptively holding an electrolyte, are concurrently provided partly in an electrode end part consisting of peripheral edge sealed parts 22, 24. Accordingly, an overflowing electrolyte from the peripheral edge sealed parts 22, 24 is absorptively held, and the electrolyte, when it becomes necessary, can be supplied again to the peripheral edge sealed parts 22, 24. Since this function can absorptively hold not only the electrolyte in the electrode end part but also the overflowing electrolyte from an electrolyte layer 1 of a cell, an overflow of the electrolyte from the cell can be prevented. In this way, a fuel cell of a long life to generate stable power can be obtained. |
