A rotary hectographic duplicator comprises an original 8 mounted on a cylinder 4, a liquid reservoir 9 for damping liquid pivotable about a shaft 10 and provided with an air inlet valve 25 and a liquid outlet member 14 which cooperates with an absorbent felt member 16, and a felt member 17 which receives liquid from the member 16 and transfers the liquid to each copy sheet 6 before it reaches the line of pressure A-B between the cylinder 4 and an impression roller 7. A roller 21 mounted on a control lever 20 of the damping device engages a surface on a cam 22 rotatable with the cylinder, rotation of the cylinder from the Fig. 1 position causing the roller to leave the surface and the member 17 to engage the sheet 6 under the pressure of a spring 24. A leaf-spring 11 causes the device to be indexed in its alternative pivoted positions. A plate 29 on the cylinder engages a plate 31 as the cylinder rotates and opens the valve 25 via a pin 33. Adjustment of an eccentric 32 alters the stroke of the valve 25.</p> |
