PURPOSE:To protect devices from surge and deter external noise by converting electric signals output from a device on the output side to optical signals and then reconverting these optical signals back to electric signals on the input side as a means transmitting signals between devices. CONSTITUTION:Electric signals output from an output side device 1 on a substrate are input to an E/Q conversion device 3, converted to optical signals, and output as optical signals. Next, the optical signals output from the E/Q conversion device 3 are input to the optical waveguide path placed between the two devices. The optical signals which have traveled across the optical waveguide path 5 and emerge from the path are input to the Q/E conversion device 4 below the input side device 2 on the substrate. After that, the optical signals are reconverted to electric signals by Q/E conversion and the electric signals are input to the input side device 2. |
