<p>PURPOSE:To provide a connection method through which a simple and reliable connection work is executed without needing a surplus connection part by executing connection in a way that a sealant is located between a rib-freed surface where ribs are cut off throughout a desired range and the saddle of a branch pipe. CONSTITUTION:Ribs 11 present in a range with some margin and formed in a position where the outer peripheral edge of a saddle 21 is considered to make contact with the ribs when a pipe 1 with ribs is connected are cut off from a root to form a rib-freed surface 12. A through-hole 13 having approximately the same size as that of a short pipe 22 is formed approximately in the central part of the rib-freed surface 12. The surface of the rib-freed surface 12 is coated with a sealant, such as silicone resin, butyl rubber, having viscoelasticity, and the back of the saddle 21 is pressed thereagainst for fixing. This method effects simple and reliable connection only by locating the sealant between the rib-freed surface and the saddle and prevents easy separation of a branch pipe from the outer peripheral surface of the pipe with ribs even when vibration, a shock, and bending moment are exerted on the branch pipe during a piping work.</p> |
